How to study fast without forgetting ?

It is really tough time for students as exams arrive their way. Students today face a number of aspects and are highly distracted too. They find it tough to concentrate on their studies and suffer at times of exams. The main aspect of studying is not studying for a longer period of time but to study in a smarter way.

In that manner let’s glance through a few study tips.

In our education there are lots of subjects, if we use same preparation strategy to all subjects then it will not be effective, therefore first of all let's divide the subjects according to there preparation strategy.

1.Subjects which requires Understanding of Concepts
2. Memorization
3. Languages
4. Application based subjects

1.Subjects which requires Understanding of Concepts

Those subjects which requires deep understanding of Concepts comes under this category. e.g. Physics, Thermodynamics, Economics etc.

In order to study subjects under this category one trick is very effective it is called as FEYNMANN TECHNIQUE. Feynmann was a nobel prise winning physicist. When he was in University he tried one technique to understand concepts. This technique is now called feynmann technique. This technique is specifically useful to understand concepts, let's understand what this technique is.

Let's take any article that you have to study,

1) First refer your study material to understand the article, you can use books or internet for understanding purpose.
2) Now close the books and take one notebook, and write down what you have understand in that notebook.
3) Now read the notebook and try to find out flaws in the written article, these are the flaws in your understanding.
4) Then again refer your study material and try to remove all the flaws by understanding concepts.
5) Now try to explain the article to your friends in loud voice, because in one observation it is found out that when you speak in loud voice then you remember it properly.

You can use this technique in your daily life also to improve your understanding.

2.Memorization

Those subjects which requires lot's of remembering comes under this category. e.g. civics, history, law, biology etc.

While studying these subjects first we have to know that our brain can't easily remember texts, numbers etc. What our brain can remember easily is Emotional things and those things which activates our more than one senses.

Let's take example of food, it has taste, smell, sound etc. Therefore we can easily remember what we are eating.

Therefore in order to remember effectively the trick is to activate more than one senses through imagination. Now how to do it? One of the method to do it is Memory Palace.

In this technique we use physical things such as our house or yard to create a storyline to activate more than one senses. Because story and images can be remembered more easily by our brain.

Let's take an example to learn periodic table using a imaginary house.

1)First imagine that you are outside of your house where there is sunshine, sunshine means sun which means hydrogen. i.e. first element on periodic table is hydrogen.
2)Then imagine that you entered into your house and first room is kitchen, in kitchen your mom is blowing a balloon, balloon means helium, i.e. next element in periodic table.
3)Then imagine that you entered into next room in that room your small brother is playing with batteries, batteries means lithium, i.e.next element on periodic table.
4)Then imagine that you entered into your backyard, in your backyard there is a tree of Berry's, berry means beryllium.

In this way you can remember. use weird things so that it will be easy to remember.

3.Languages

All the languages comes under this category e.g. English, Spanish, German etc.

Languages are generally difficult to learn because it is not possible to learn languages in short time, it requires regular practice.

Any language consist of reading, writing, listening, speaking skills.

Reading, writing and listening can be practice by reading books in that language and watching movies using subtitles. But to master speaking you should actually speak that language with other person who knows that language. To do this there are various smartphone apps are available e.g. cambly. These apps can help you to talk with others to improve speaking skills.

4.Application based subjects

All those subjects which requires problem solving skills comes under this category. e.g. mathematics, account, mechanics etc.

These Subjects have lot's of problems to solve and very less theory. To study these subjects there is only one method i.e. practice, practice and practice.

Start preparing these subjects by observing example problems, recognize a pattern in the problems i.e. how those problems are solved. Remember formulas and solve large number of examples.

Bonus Trick

Sometimes you can not concentrate on what you are learning, this is because you can't focus on studies. At that time try to concentrate on history of the article you are preparing, try to focus on why this article is made.

e.g. share market is not very interesting thing to learn, but if you focus on history of share market i.e. when share market is started why it is started then you can understand it well.
