Mediatek Dymensity 800 vs Snapdragon 765G

Dymensity 800 and Snapdragon 765G are 5G chipsets for mid range smartphones. Dymensity 800 was announced by Mediatek in January 2020, and Snapdragon 765G was announced by Qualcomm in December 2019. When we think Mediatek Dymensity 800 vs Snapdragon 765G then both are equally good chipsets.

Mediatek and Qualcomm both companies are producing smartphone chipsets. Initially people were confused which is better for them, Mediatek or Qualcomm. Letter on people got some understanding that Qualcomm is providing better functionality in there chipsets as compared to Mediatek, therefore in flagship chipset segment Qualcomm was the leader, on the other hand Mediatek is forced to leave the flagship market. Mediatek was popular in entry level smartphones. But with time Mediatek also evolved a lot. Mediatek recently launched powerful chipsets for mid range smartphones with very low price. Those are helio g90t a 4g chipset and dymensity 800 a 5G chipset. Qualcomm also launched Snapdragon 765G for mid range 5G smartphones. Now lets compare these two chipsets. CPU Comparison

Initially let us discuss manufacturing process for both of them, dymensity 800 and Snapdragon 765G both have 7nm manufacturing process. Hence both the chipsets are power efficient and have low battery consumption. Mediatek dymensity 800 is octa core processor it has 4 cortex A76 performance cores clocked at 2.0 GHZ frequency and 4 cortex A55 efficiency cores clocked at 2.0 GHZ frequency. 

Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G is also a octa core processor. It has 1 A76 core clocked at 2.4 GHZ, 1 A76 core coocked at 2.3 GHZ, 1 A76 core clocked at 2.2 GHZ and 6 A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHZ. It is very difficult to compare performance of the two Processor from this information because one processor has higher clock frequency and other has higher performance cores.

GPU and Gaming Comparison


Mediatek dymensity 800 uses Mali-G57 MP4 gpu it is a quad-core GPU. It works on ARMs  valhall first Generation architecture. On the other hand Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G uses adreno 620 gpu which has maximum clock speed of 750 MHZ. Mediatek Dymensity 800 has hyper engine gaming technology for game enhancement. Where as Snapdragon 765G has Qualcomm elite gaming technology. Both the processor provides excellent performance for gaming in mid range category.

Camera

Mediatek dimensity 800 processor has 64 MP single camera support and 32+16 MP dual camera support. Snapdragon 765G has 36 MP single camera support and 22 MP dual camera support. Both processor can record 4k videos with 30 fps.

Display

Mediatek dymensity 800 can support 90 Hz screen refresh rate on FHD+ display. Where as Snapdragon 765G can support upto 120 Hz screen refresh rate on FHD+ display.

RAM Support

Mediatek dimensity 800 can support upto 16 GB of ram with frequency 2133 MHz. Where as Snapdragon 765G can support upto 12 GB of ram with frequency 2133 MHz.

Connectivity

Both these processors supports 5G connectivity. Upload and download speed of Mediatek dimensity 800 are not disclosed. Where as Snapdragon 765G provides 3.7 Gbps download speed and 1.6 Gbps of upload speed on 5G network. and 1.2 Gbps of download speed and 210 Mbps of upload speed on 4G network.

Conclusion (Mediatek dymensity 800 vs Snapdragon 765G)

Comparison of performance of these two processors is very difficult until a smartphone of these processors arrives. On paper we can see that cpu and gpu performance of both of these processors is almost same but camera support of Snapdragon 765G could be better. Screen refresh rate of Snapdragon 765G is better than dymensity 800 processor, but it will be worth if smartphone with dymensity 800 processor come at lower price then smartphones with Snapdragon 765G.
